Challenge Overview
From Kiloton to Gigaton - One Lift at a Time
At Buff Gorilla, we’re not just about individual strength—we’re about tribal strength. The Kiloton-to-Gigaton Challenge is a first-of-its-kind fitness movement that unites our community toward a single, powerful goal: to lift a collective 1 kiloton (1,000 tons) together.
Once we smash through that milestone, we don’t stop. We’ll push for 1 megaton (1,000,000 tons), and eventually, 1 gigaton (1 billion tons) It’s more than just a challenge—it’s a testament to the power of community, grit, and relentless pursuit of greatness
Together, we lift. Together, we grow. Together, we create history
Instructions for Logging in
the Kiloton Challenge
Welcome to the Buff Gorilla Kiloton-to-Gigaton Challenge! Here’s how you can participate and contribute to our mission of becoming the physically strongest community in the world. To make this challenge fair, fun, and engaging, we have a few guidelines on how to log your lifts properly.
How to Log Your Lifts
Calculate Your Total Lifted Weight
After each workout session, calculate your total weight lifted by multiplying the weight used in each set by the number of reps
Add up the total weight for all exercises in your session.
Example
Bench Press: 200 lbs x 10 reps x 3 sets = 6,000 lbs
Dumbbell Flys: 50 lbs x 12 reps x 3 sets = 1,800 lbs
Incline Press: 150 lbs x 10 reps x 4 sets = 6,000 lbs
Total Lifted for the Session = 13,800 lbs
Log the Total Lifted Weight
Once you have your total for the day, log it using
one of the following methods
Telegram Group:
Post your total weight lifted with a brief description of your
workout (e.g., “13,800 lbs total today—chest day grind ”).
Twitter Post:
Use the hashtag #BuffGorillaChallenge and tag
@BuffGorilla with your total weight and any additional
details (e.g., photos or videos of your workout).
Discord Channel:
Go to the dedicated challenge channel and post your
total for the day
Encouraged but Not Required: Share Proof
While proof isn’t mandatory, we highly encourage posting photos or short videos of your workout. It helps keep the community motivated, builds trust, and makes it more engaging for everyone
If you hit an extraordinary lift total (we’ll define this as a total over 25,000 lbs per day), proof is required to ensure fairness.
Proof can be in the form of:
- A video clip showing key parts of your workout.
- A photo with a brief breakdown of the exercises and weights used
Daily Cap and Extraordinary Lifts
To keep things balanced, we’ll introduce a daily cap of 25,000 lbs.
- If you go over this cap, you must provide proof to have your lifts counted toward the challenge total.
- Lifts below the cap don’t require proof but are always appreciated.
Why This Matters
Every rep, every set, every lift counts toward our shared goal of hitting 1 kiloton (1,000 tons), then pushing toward 1 megaton (1,000,000 tons), and eventually achieving 1 gigaton (1 billion tons). Your contributions make a difference, and together, we’ll prove that Buff Gorilla is the strongest tribe in the world
